Its my friend Jelly! Idnt she pretty~ Yeah uhh... i dunno. Its probably what i had imagined in my head but i still like it... The colour palate restrictions i put on myself helped it alot i think. Once again this was worked off of a photo reference, but i used the reference alot less this time so its more "original" than some of my other portraits i guess. so... yeah. Comments are much apreciated... my recent deviations havnt been getting many... Critical advise is prefered but all comments are loved. Sodman2k
I do like it, Thankyou! Um... Critical advice, maybe try a liess pink more browny skintone that way the shading won't make people look sunburneded ^_^ That said I do like it!
It's pretty good. I like the way you've worked around using only pinks and reds. One thing you can improve on is making the shading blend more. Making the lips and the eyes a little softer so they don't stand out as much, but don't go over the top. Maybe using smaller brush strokes would help. I also like the way you've used lighting. It gives her face some shape. Overall this is a pretty good image. Did you use the burn or multiply tool with this?
I tryed to use diferent layers for the main shading and highlighting this time (a realy bad idea >_< which i think may be the cause of some of the 'less blended' areas... Now that you mention it the lips could certainly do with some softening... i think the eyes work with that sharpness though, it draws the viewers attention... fixes the gaze. I dont know what the "multiply" tool is... :S Perhaps its a tool that is not included in my inferior ps-elements... So burn it was. Thankyou for your thoughtful feedback, it is much apreciated. I have to say about the eyes, it would have looked nice if you had possibly just shaded the eyeliner/eyeshadow a little as that is how I do my makeup anyway ^_^
